On Tuesday May 15th, six athletes were honored at the Anchor Bay Senior Night Award Ceremony. These award plaques will be featured in the commons and have been recorded for more than 20 years. The three categories for both male and female are Sportsmanship, Outstanding Athlete and The Dean A. Naldrett awards.
First, the Sportsmanship Award.
The coaches nominated and voted for candidates based on the display of respect and positive attitude towards the game at all times.
This year, the Sportsmanship Awards goes to -
- Isaiah Bailey - (Football, Wrestling, Track & Field)
- Justine Stewart - (Volleyball, Tennis)
Next, the Outstanding Athlete Award.
Both of these students are very dedicated to athletics and have excelled with their sport(s).
This year, the Outstanding Athlete Award goes to -
- Michael Romanoski - (Football, Wrestling, Golf)
- Maria Mallon - (Volleyball)
The final award that was presented is the Dean A. Naldrett Award. The male and female athletes were nominated based on the following criteria: Citizenship, Academics, Sportsmanship and Athletics.
This award goes to one female and one male athlete that exemplifies the well rounded athlete in all of the mentioned categories. Both are involved in athletics, community projects, carry a very high GPA, and are respected by other athletes, opponents and coaches.
This year, the Dean A. Naldrett Award goes to -
- Michael Zedan - (Cross Country, Track & Field)
- Kelsey Cooney - (Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field)
